Which gateway to Söderåsen is right for you?

What do you want to experience, and how do you want to eat and live? Below the map you can read about the eight gates of Söderåsen and what characterizes them.

1. Tingvalla - The hiking gate

This is the start of Söderåsen and one of Sweden's signature trails! Tingvalla is a beautiful forest area for exercise and recreation outside Åstorp. It is also a perfect entrance to the fantastic nature of Söderåsen. Here you leave civilization and go straight into wild forest with rippling streams, tall trees and cool cliffs. When you reach the top of the ridge, you can look out over the magnificent expanses of the Scanian plain.

2. Klippan - Kulturporten

Klippan, located in the scenic Rönneådalen valley, is an interesting cultural gateway with a rich local history and cultural experiences. Its old factory buildings and mill environments tell of an era of production and the importance of labor. 3. Ljungbyhed - Historieporten

Ljungbyhed is the gateway where visitors can immerse themselves in the military history of the place as well as whizzing along on a dressage bike on the museum railway between Ljungbyhed and Klippan. In Ljungbyhed Park, many pilots through the ages have taken their flying license and today the site is both an active airport and houses a motor track. For those who prefer water adventures, canoeing on the Rönne River is a popular activity and suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. -Read more here

4. Skäralid - National Park Sport

There are currently 30 national parks in Sweden and Skäralid is the gateway to one of them - Söderåsen National Park. Skäralid is by far the best known gateway to Söderåsen. Here you are met by beech forest-clad cliffs, dramatic valleys and flowing streams. The nature is magnificent and the national park has several miles of hiking trails, but also shelters and rest areas. 5. Röstånga - Friluftsporten

Röstånga, the outdoor gateway, has a good range of services and is close to Nackarpsdalen, which is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful places on Söderåsen. One of the sights is the almost circular Odensjön, which is surrounded by 30 meter high cliffs. Röstånga is located on the slope of Söderåsen in the north-eastern corner of Svalöv municipality. Röstånga is one of two entrances to Söderåsen National Park and is the municipality's tourist center with tourist information, swimming, camping and accommodation.

6. Klåveröd - Vildmarksporten

Klåveröd, located on Söderåsen, is the 'wilderness gateway' to an impressive natural environment with varied terrain. The area is characterized by chimney-like cliffs, wooded paths, and watercourses, and it is an important site for biodiversity conservation. There is a wide variety of habitats with different species of plants, fungi and animals. For the adventurous, Klåveröd offers activities such as hiking in Skorstensdalen, swimming, fishing, and climbing, as well as two mountain bike trails for cycling enthusiasts.

7. Kågeröd - Rural gateway

Kågeröd, with its location in the countryside, offers proximity to both nature and larger cities. Located on the southern slope of Söderåsen, Kågeröd is characterized by its history and the special feature of the Vegeån river that flows through the village. Kågeröd's mader is a unique nature area with wetlands and in Hallabäckens nature reserve you can experience generous nature with lush deciduous forests and rippling water. - Read more here

8. Billesholm - Cykelporten

Welcome to Billesholm, the bicycle gate which is an old mining community located at Söderåsen. Historically, both coal and clay have been mined here for many years, which has left its mark, there are several shaft holes that testify to a bygone era. Billesholm is close to scenic Söderåsen with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The nature reserve Åvarps fälad and Hallabäckens valley make the place perfect for both outdoor life and recreation.
