Now is the forest at its best. The deciduous forest bursts into a spectacle of color that is just as magical every autumn.
Fill a thermos with coffee or hot chocolate and head to one of Söderåsen's beautiful spots for hiking, biking, paddling, and horseback riding. Or just take a leisurely stroll in the peaceful countryside. In addition to the national park, we offer three hiking areas and fifteen nature reserves – all well worth a visit. With a little luck, you might find the forest's gold, so don't forget your mushroom basket.
At Herrevadskloster, there is a hiking trail and illuminated track through rolling pastures with old trees and interesting cultural remains. In Jällabjär, just outside Röstånga, you can walk around the remains of an old volcano – surrounded by beech forest, pastureland, and marshes. The Finnstorp walking area on the southern slopes of Söderåsen is perfect for shorter walks in varied natural surroundings. Traneröd's bog is a Natura 2000 area and nature reserve. This is one of the few well-preserved raised bogs in Skåne. The area has a wilderness feel and offers views of rich bird life and the chance to find cranberries and, in some years, cloudberries.
It's also harvest time, so after your outing, it might be a good idea to stop by one of the farm shops to buy some delicious treats to take home.
